Our aim is to restore your windows and frames to the highest standard using traditional methods and quality materials to ensure they stay true to their natural heritage.

At the beginning of every project we will arrange a no obligation visit to survey each window and frame, we will take photographs and then provide you with a report detailing the style of window, the frame and the type of glass along with our recommended works to each section, ensuring everything is in keeping with the style and history of your property and only ever carrying out works that are completely necessary. We are conservators and restorers and you can trust us to work closely with conservation officers to carry out all works in line with their regulations.

Our experienced craftsman will pay attention to every detail whist rebuilding your panel, taking rubbings, sizes and photography to manufacture your panel to our high standard. Your glass will never be discarded as we always try reuse as much of the original glass wherever possible, as English glass manufacturing has gone through a complete transformation into float glass since the late 1950’s. Old glass such as drawn sheet glass, rolled glass and handmade glasses are increasingly hard to find, we are however fortunate enough to still have excellent stock of this original glass which is something we are very proud of.

Your panel will be rebuilt using only English Hand Drawn Lead Came, this hand milled lead can be produced in many different profiles of thickness and heart height to perfectly match the original. Our lead like all of the materials we use come from a family run business that we have worked closely with for many years, and like us they use the traditional methods of their trade to produce their materials and are committed to preserving and restoring these windows in the correct way. By using the best materials possible will inject up to an additional 100 years of serviceable life into your failed or bowing leaded lights.

We specialise in all styles of leaded light window panels from square and diamond to rectangle and lozenge and once your panel has been carefully removed from the stonework/timber/iron surround the opening will then be securely boarded.

We pride ourselves on our customer service and guarantee that our friendly team will keep you up to date and involved in every step of the process and provide you with a professional and reliable service, giving you the confidence to allow us to restore your windows.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about restoring your leaded light windows and frames. We understand that in some cases there could be several elements to your windows that you may need advice on, and we know that with our many years of knowledge and experience we will be able to provide you with the help and information that you need. A free no obligation quotation can be provided upon request.

“Sussex Leaded Lights did a great job restoring some original Sussex Pins and replacement leaded lights in oak frames in our my Grade II listed building. Simon's knowledge, skills, experience and enthusiasm made the process enjoyable as well as having some great windows, much to the envy of my neighbours. I would highly recommend his craftmanship. ”
