Metal Frame Repairs

We are able to personally repair your traditional Sussex Pin, Crittall Frames and Cast Metal fixed or opening window frames.

At our workshop in Horsham we are fully equipped to repair all types of metal frames. All repairs are completed in house using traditional methods by our master craftsmen allowing us to make sure that all works are produced to the highest standard and quality of repair leaving no trace of the original damage.

The most common reason for the need to repair metal frames is rust. This is mainly due to years of rain and moisture collecting at the bottom of the frame causing the metal to delaminate and rust. This can also lead to the windows not opening and closing correctly allowing water ingress and drafts into your property.

The frames will be removed and the opening will be boarded whilst they are being restored. Once at our workshop, the leaded light windows will be carefully deglazed from the frame to enable the repairs to be carried out. Once the repairs are complete the frame will then be shot blasted to remove any rust and old paint, the frames will then be professionally painted ready for the leaded lights to be fully reglazed using traditional putty or copper ties depending on the style of frame.

We stock a wide variety of historic frames, window handles and lower window stays that can be used to replace the existing ones if they missing or are beyond repair, which means that these parts of your frame can be restored ensuring the history of the original frame is not lost.
